i recorded 7 out of these 8 songs in about a week in december of 2014 when i found out it was my buddy's birthday and i didn't get him anything. i didn't have any money so i wrote an album for him instead. i don't even think he likes this kind of music, but i guess it's the thought that counts. despite all this, i still can't remember when my friend's birthday is.

i'm really fond of these songs, i've been trying to re-arrange them so that they could be played as a band, but after a little over 9 years and countless attempts and i don't think i can add anything to them; i'm so used to how they sound that i can't imagine them sounding different anymore. in my mind they're the best and only good songs i ever wrote. to quote Marge Simpson, "i just think they're neat" and i think i'm ready to let them out into the world.
